Dry Lining – explained

Dry lining finishes walls by attaching plasterboard, hiding imperfections. It’s quick and clean, ideal for renovations and new builds. This method readies walls for painting or wallpapering, offering a smooth surface.

The Dry Lining Method

Surface Prep: Dust and clean the wall. Remove any loose material.

Board Fitting: Measure and cut plasterboard to fit the wall.

Fixing Boards: Secure the plasterboard to the wall using adhesive or mechanical fixings.

Joint Taping: Tape over the joints between boards.

Filling Joints: Apply joint compound over the tape, smoothing it out.

Drying: Let the joint compound dry, typically overnight.

Sanding: Sand the dried compound for a smooth finish.

Finishing: The wall is ready for painting or wallpapering, with a seamless appearance.
